About the Centre
Who We Are
The Centre for Gender Studies is the heart of gender-based activism and academic dialogue at Galgotias University. Created to foster inclusivity within legal education, it unites students, faculty, and thinkers to explore how gender influences rights, law, and society.
Here, we don’t just talk about equality — we work toward it. One campaign, one conversation, one step at a time.
What We Do
- Organize lectures, panels, and discussions on gender law, feminism, queer rights, and social justice
- Launch awareness campaigns such as Pronouns Matter and Consent is Love
- Conduct student-led research and publish thought pieces
- Collaborate with NGOs, activists, and legal professionals
- Host creative competitions (poster-making, poetry, skits) on inclusivity
- Facilitate outreach visits to communities, schools, and legal aid centres
Core Objectives
- Promote gender justice within and beyond the classroom
- Educate on intersectionality and diverse identities
- Empower women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and marginalized voices
- Foster legal reform through academic engagement
- Create safe and inclusive dialogue spaces
- Encourage original research and action initiatives
Vision
To ensure gender is not just a theoretical discussion, but a lived reality in the legal and academic space — where every student feels seen, respected, and represented.
