Scholarships

Galgotias University is committed to recognizing and rewarding excellence across diverse domains. We offer a comprehensive range of scholarships to outstanding candidates based on their remarkable achievements in academics, extracurricular activities, and various competitive examinations. Whether it's exceptional performance in Board exams like 10+2, Diploma or Graduation, securing top ranks in prestigious All India/State Level Entrance Tests, or demonstrating exceptional talents in sports, or any other field of endeavour, Galgotias University celebrates and supports students who have excelled in their chosen areas of expertise. Our scholarships aim to nurture and empower these gifted individuals, providing them with the resources and opportunities to further hone their skills and reach new heights of success.

1.1 Grant of Admission Merit-Scholarship

The scholarships to be awarded will be announced through Admission Notifications that are issued to the public at various times during the year.

1.2 Amount of Scholarship

1.2.1 Academic Brilliance Scholarship

  • 100% tuition fee waiver as scholarship to the topper (1st Position) of all central and state Boards.
  • 25% tuition fee waiver*as scholarship for students securing 95% or above in class 12th (except B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing Program)
  • 15% tuition fee waiver*as scholarship for students securing 90-94.99% in class 12th. (except B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing Program)
  • 100% tuition fee waiver as scholarship to the topper (1st position) of all university.
  • 25% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students having minimum 90% marks or above in graduation.
  • 15% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students having minimum 80-89.99% marks in graduation.

*This scholarship is subject to the program eligibility criteria mentioned on the website.

1.2.2 Entrance Examination Scholarship

  • 50% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing up to 25000th rank in the JEE Examination.
  • 20% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students securing minimum 60%ile in CAT, or above 600 marks in MAT.
  • 20% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for meritorious LSAT qualified students.
  • 20% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for the student securing minimum 100 score in CLAT exam.
  • 5% tuition fee waiver as scholarship for students who have chosen GU as their university preference in CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

1.2.3 Ex-Student/Alumni/Old Student Scholarship

10% tuition fee waiver as a scholarship for Ex-Student/Alumni/old student of Galgotias University obtaining admission to higher studies, provided the applicant must have secured a CGPA of 6.0 or more in their qualifying degree/diploma (without any back paper).

In case of gap is more than 3 years between the qualifying exam & seeking admission in Galgotias University, this scholarship will not be granted.

Note: No Application for On-Admission Scholarship (Clause 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3) will be entertained after the last date of admission.

1.2.4 Procedure of Grant of Admission Merit Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded at the time of admission. The admission department must obtain prior approval from the appropriate authority for granting the scholarship under the specified category, as well as the prescribed level of marks, percentage, percentile, or grades. The department will then verify the mark sheets to determine the category under which the student qualifies for the scholarship.

1.3 Continuation of on Admission Merit-Scholarship

A student will be eligible to get the Scholarship of 10% for the next year(s) if he/she is able to maintain a CGPA of 9.0 or above, has no backlog of carry-over papers at the end of the previous year, and maintains a minimum attendance of 75%.

1.3.1 Procedure for Grant of Continuation of Admission Merit Scholarship

The scholarships will be continued on the Application form submitted by the student along with the verified copies of results by the controller of examination if the student fulfil the conditions prescribed in clause 1.3.

1.3.2 Discontinuation of Admission Merit-Scholarship

The scholarship shall be discontinued at any time during a programme, from the date as directed by the Vice Chancellor, under the following conditions

  1. The student is not able to meet the Academic performance as prescribed in clause (1.3).
  2. The student is unable to pass all the examinations in the first attempt in the normal examination scheduled for his/her programme. The student has engaged in unfair means in examinations or has been debarred from appearing in the examinations.
  3. If the HOD/Dean reports that the student has engaged in misconduct, misbehaviour, gross indiscipline, ragging, use of drugs or narcotics and the charges havebeen established or found in any activity which breaks the Student Code of Conduct.

Scholarship once discontinued will be restored when the student has raised his/her CGPA to 9.0 or above, has cleared all back papers, and maintains a minimum attendance of 75%.

Note: If A student falls in condition C, the scholarship will not be continued.

Under University Sports quota, candidate can secure admission at Galgotias University in two ways:

Criteria 1: Admission without Sports Trials

Candidate who has represented India in any of the following competitions is eligible to secure admission without taking the Sports Trial(s):

  • Olympic Games by International Olympic Committee (IOC)
  • World Championship/ World Cup by International Sports Federations (ISF)
  • Asian Games by Olympic Council of Asia
  • Asian Championships by International Sports Federations (ISF)
  • South Asian Games (SAG) by South Asian Sports Council (SASC)
  • Commonwealth Games by Commonwealth Games Federations (CGF)
  • Paralympics Games by International Paralympics Committee (IPC)

Criteria 2: Admission with Sports Trial(s)

Candidate who has not participated in any of the competitions listed above will be required to undergo Sports Trial for admission. Similar to the admission procedure for other candidates, applicants under the Sports quota must register on the official GU website. When filling out the application form for admissions, candidate is also required to upload their Sports Certificates on the portal. Out of a total of 100 marks, 40 marks will be allocated for Certificates, and 60 marks will be designated for sports trials.

Candidates must participate in sports trials for their specific game or sport, which includes Game/Sport Specific Fitness, Fundamental Skills, and Overall Playing Ability.

The Galgotias Sports Department will conduct sports trial for a specific sport or game, and the trial dates will be communicated through the provided email addresses. To be eligible for Scholarship under the Sports quota, candidate must secure a minimum of 30 marks in Sports Trial and Minimum 14 Marks in Sports Certificate evaluation.

After the sports trials, the Selected candidates will be informed through email.

Eligibility Criteria for Sports Quota Candidates

The Galgotias University (GU) is providing the financial aid to encourage our dedicated officers in the Defence and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and their dependents.

Defence forces considered under the scheme:

Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Security Guards (NSG), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Riffles, Border Road Organization, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES), Defence Security Corps (DSC), Ordnance Factory Board and state Police personnel

3.1 Financial Aid to Serving Defence/Police Personnel and those who are nominated through study leave:

  • Eligibility Relaxation: Applicant can apply for 5% Relaxation in eligibility if he/she does not want to apply for financial aid given by university. Except for programmes where certain regulatory bodies have imposed minimum eligibility conditions.
    • All the serving officers (from all the forces covered under this policy), who are willing to take admission in Galgotias University through study leave will be exempted from entrance exam and interview conducted by Galgotias University (Except Ph.D. & LLM programmes) and any other programme where entrance test or eligibility test is compulsory as per the regulatory bodies.
    • Programmes: The Financial aid will be available in all programmes where normal Galgotias University financial aid/ scholarship scheme(s) is/are applicable.
    • Last Date of application will be till the last date of admission.
    • Documents Required: The applicant is required to submit following documents:
  • For serving personnel: Bona-fide certificate from Commanding Officer of Unit currently posted to with seal and copy of ID card (mentioning the service no.)
  • For ex-servicemen: Pension Pay Order, Discharge Book and Copy of ID card
  • Officers on study leave: Bona-fide certificate from respective Directorate of Education, Headquarters, Delhi.
  • Copy of dependent card or Proof of dependent.
  • Application Submission:
  • Fill the details in the application form (refer Form-1: Application for Defence and CAPF Financial Aid)
  • Submit the application along with applicable documents at Galgotias University Campus Admission
  • Selection of Application: The application will be selected based on first come received on or before the due date and till the seats remain in programme.
  • Result Declaration and Intimation: The result of applications will be communicated individual through an email/Call. The financial aid will be updated after verification of all the documents and on completion of formalities pertaining of admission.
  • Insufficient information or incomplete documents will make applicant ineligible and such applications will not be processed/ presented before the committee.
  • Other Terms and Conditions: All other terms & conditions as may be decided by the University time to time will also be applicable.

Note:

  1. The applicant should clearly mention details/ information pertaining to scheme and scanned documents must be readable
  2. No Application will be entertained after the last date of admission.

3.3 Continuation of Financial Aid/Scholarship

Annexure: Application for Defence and CAPF Financial Aid

To encourage students to achieve higher performance during their studies in an academic programme, the University has instituted Merit scholarships to recognize their academic achievements.

These scholarships will be awarded every year to second, third, fourth and fifth year students after the declaration of the results of winter semester of the previous year. This scholarship will be for a period of one year duration.

4.1 Merit Scholarships

At the end of each academic year, a merit list consisting of the first second and third rankers in each batch and programme of study will be prepared on the basis of CGPA for consideration for merit scholarships.

To receive favourable consideration for any merit scholarship, the student should have passed all the examinations in the first attempt. The number of Merit Scholarships will be determined as follows.

4.2 Amount of Scholarship

The amount of Merit Scholarship during the programme will be equal to 30% of the tuition fee payable by the student in the subsequent year and will be rounded off to next multiple of Rs.100/-.

4.3 Procedure for Grant of Scholarship

The Merit scholarship will be granted for the subsequent year of study and will be adjusted in the next installment of fees to be paid.

4.4 Discontinuation of Merit Scholarship

The scholarship shall be discontinued at any time during a programme, with effect from the date as approved by the Vice Chancellor, under the following conditions:

(a) The student has been found to engage in unfair practices in examinations or has been debarred from appearing in the examinations for any valid reason.

(b) If the Head of the Department reports that the student has been charged with misconduct, misbehavior, gross indiscipline, incident of ragging, use of drugs or narcotics and the charges have been established or found in any activity which breaks the Student Code of Conduct.

35% fee waiver as a Scholarship to ward/Spouse of University staff.

50% tuition fee waiver as a scholarship for the student whose both parents are no more.

15% tuition fee waiver as a scholarship for students whose family consists only one parent.

Terms & Conditions
  • All scholarships will be adjusted only against the tuition fee of the student.
  • Irrelevant/expired/non-legible documents will result in scholarship cancellation and forged documents will lead to cancellation of admission of the student, if found later at any stage.
  • Only one scholarship can be availed at the time of admission. Scholarship availed once will continue as per terms and conditions of that scholarship. The same will not be changed to other scholarship, unless approved by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Any scholarship scheme may be discontinued by the University without intimation.
  • The Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh reserves the right to Modify/withdraw the scheme at any point and the University's decision is final and cannot be challenged; there is no right of appeal.
  • No Student can hold more than one scholarship in an Academic year.
  • The scholarship will be forfeited in case a student appliesfor withdrawal.
