Galgotias School of Nursing, in collaboration with Epitome Kidney Urology Institute and Lions Hospital, New Friends Colony, New Delhi, organized a World Kidney Day Awareness Program on 4th November 2025.
The event focused on the theme “Healthy Plate, Healthy Kidneys”, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, hydration, and regular medical check-ups in maintaining kidney health.
The campaign aimed to create awareness about kidney health among nursing students, faculty, and the general public, highlighting preventive strategies against kidney diseases.

Event Detailed Description

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Ajay Kher, Senior Nephrologist and Board Member of Epitome Urology Institute and Lions Hospital, who spoke on the importance of community participation in preventing kidney disorders.
Dr. Kher’s keynote session covered:
- Major causes of kidney diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
- The importance of early detection, regular health check-ups, and lifestyle changes.
- Practical tips on maintaining kidney health through hydration and dietary balance.
An interactive poster presentation and quiz competition were conducted for nursing students, enabling them to creatively express their understanding of kidney health and disease prevention.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion between students, faculty, and hospital professionals, where participants clarified doubts and shared their learning experiences.

Implementation

The event successfully engaged B.Sc. Nursing students, faculty members, and doctors from Epitome Hospitals. It included educational talks, quiz activities, and interactive learning, strengthening the link between academia and healthcare institutions.
