Introduction
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 3 of Galgotias University, under the dynamic and visionary guidance of Mr. Nishant Kumar Sharma, Program Officer, hosted the grand and inspiring event Samarpan ’25 on 12th June 2025 at the Galgotias University Auditorium. The name "SAMARPAN," which means “SELFLESS DEDICATION”, perfectly captured the essence of the day—a celebration of service, unity, and social responsibility.
Samarpan ’25 was more than just an annual gathering; it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude and recognition for the unwavering spirit of over 200 student volunteers who have devoted their time and efforts toward building a better society. The event brought to light the transformative journey of these young changemakers, who believe in serving not just with their hands, but with their hearts.
The university auditorium radiated an aura of purpose and pride, as it welcomed esteemed dignitaries, passionate volunteers, and respected faculty members. Together, they paid tribute to the core values of NSS—Not Me, But You—which inspire students to rise above self-interest and serve the greater good of the nation.
The event stood as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reigniting a collective commitment to community service and national development. It was a day etched in golden letters in the chronicles of Galgotias University, reflecting the vibrant soul of NSS and the unbreakable bond of humanity, compassion, and patriotism that it fosters in every volunteer.
Dignitaries and Chief Guests
The event was graced by an esteemed panel of guests, whose presence elevated the occasion:
- Dr. Sambit Patra –Hon’ble Member of the Lok Sabha, He is an Indian politician and surgeon who serves as the Member of Parliament from the Puri constituency since 4 June 2024. He has served as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2014 and currently serving as a chairman in tourism department since November 2021.
- Dr. Sanjay Mayukh – He is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. Mayukh was elected unopposed to the Bihar Legislative Council on 29 June 2020. He is also the Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson[1] and Media Co-head in charge along with Anil Baluni.
- Shri Shehzad Poonawalla – National Spokesperson, BJP
- Shri Nand Kishore Chaudhary – Media co-in charge, Media Yuva maurcha BJP
Each of the guests shared motivational words, urging the youth to continue contributing to societal development and serve as agents of change.
Program Highlights
- Inauguration Ceremony: The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful rendition of the NSS song that set the tone for the day.
- Address by Mr. Nishant Kumar Sharma: The NSS Program Officer highlighted the achievements of NSS Unit 3 over the past year and emphasized the importance of “Seva” (Service) in nation-building. His passionate speech reflected the essence of NSS and its long-lasting impact on students and society.
- Guest Speeches:
- Dr. Sambit Patra spoke about the responsibility of youth in shaping India’s future and their role in democratic development.
- Dr. Sanjay Mayukh inspired students to adopt a selfless attitude and stay rooted in Indian values.
- Shri Nand Kishore Chaudhary emphasized the dignity of labor and community empowerment through entrepreneurship.
- Shri Shehzad Poonawalla praised NSS for creating a disciplined and socially aware youth force.
- Volunteer Recognition: More than 200 student volunteers who actively participated in various NSS activities throughout the year were appreciated with certificates and special mentions. Their efforts in community welfare, environmental initiatives, health camps, and educational outreach were acknowledged.
- Cultural Performances: The event also featured inspiring dance, music, and drama performances themed around unity, patriotism, and social awareness, all presented by NSS volunteers.
