The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Club of Galgotias University successfully conducted a workshop on the Right to Information (RTI) Act to promote awareness about transparency and citizen empowerment. The event began with the warm welcome and felicitation of the guest speaker, Dr. Ranjan Tomar, a practicing lawyer and dedicated social worker. He was presented with a bouquet by Ms. Hifza Haq and Dr. Priyanka Ghai, followed by a welcome address and concept note delivered by Mr. Harsh Sandhu, Faculty Convenor.

Dr. Tomar addressed the gathering with an engaging talk on the RTI Act, its constitutional foundation, and its importance in ensuring transparency and accountability. He explained the complete RTI filing process—both offline and online—while also discussing key features, requirements, and the common challenges faced by applicants.

Additionally, he shared his real-life experiences, including efforts against animal poaching, construction of toilets, gas pipeline installations, and improvement of water supply in Noida’s rural areas. His journey served as an inspiration for all attendees.

The workshop provided students with practical legal knowledge and encouraged them to use RTI as a tool for positive social change, fulfilling the event's educational and civic objectives.

The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Club of Galgotias University successfully organized an enlightening workshop on the Right to Information (RTI) Act to promote awareness and understanding of transparency laws among students and faculty members. The event was held on 22 April, 2025 , and saw the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and guests.

The session began with a warm welcome and felicitation of the esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Ranjan Tomar—a distinguished lawyer by profession and a dedicated social worker known for his impactful grassroots work. He was welcomed with a bouquet presented by Ms. Hifza Haq and Dr. Priyanka Ghai, followed by a formal welcome address and presentation of the concept note by the Faculty Convenor of the Legal Aid Clinic, Mr. Harsh Sandhu.

Following the formal opening, Dr. Tomar took the stage and delivered an engaging and informative address. He introduced the audience to the Right to Information Act and its constitutional foundations, highlighting the significance of RTI in ensuring transparency, accountability, and participatory governance. He provided a detailed explanation of the RTI filing process, both in its offline and online formats, covering essential features, legal requirements, and practical aspects of filing effective applications.
