Kahaanikaar-A Story Writing and Story Telling Competition

The Literary Society of the School of Law, Galgotias University organized an Intra University creative story writing competition titled Kahanikaar on the 12th of April,2025. The competition was well structured and comprised of three rounds. In the first round, participants from across several departments like the School of Business, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Law submitted their imaginative and structured fiction in both English and Hindi language on the themes traversing from love to loss encapsulating macabre elements ranging from Romantic to Gothic, from the practicality of India’s Vision 2050 to stories constituent of metaphysical reality. The competition also received entries from International students signifying that ‘kahaanis’ or stories and storytelling bonds people from all parts of the globe. Kaahanikaar received over forty submissions in the 1st round and each story displayed unprecedented wisdom while being generative of great intrigue and depth. From amongst the submissions, fifteen stories were shortlisted for dramatic enactment. The Kahanikaars themselves enlivened the atmosphere by becoming one of their self-written characters and made it vibrant with their narrative power and performative expressions. The listeners were abuzz with excitement as they viewed this enjoyable sequence in the final round.
The Literary Society was enriched by the presence of esteemed faculty members – Dr. Namita Singh Malik, Dr. Ravi Bundela and Mr. Rupendra Singh and Dr. Mansi Jain Garg who motivated and evaluated the students as well as advised them for future endeavours. As a token of appreciation and a symbol of creative blossoming which they aided amongst our participants, they were presented with a small plant by the Literary society.
Professor Dr. Aditya Singh Tomar, Dean, School of Law, Galgotias University graced the Valedictory Session of the event and gave insightful inputs to the students. He provided the participants and the winners-Ms. Meghana Kandpal from School of Law(First Prize for The Loop of the Super Shoe), Ms. Sukriti Anand from the School of Business (Second Prize for Muskarahat) and Mr. Shikhar Saxena from School of Business (Third Prize for The Yellow That never Came By), the privilege of being awarded by the Dean, School of Law.
The immersive competition was a student led initiative of Mr. Shourya Pratap Singh, Mr. Pranay Tripathi, Mr. Vishal Tiwari and Ms. Ana Imtiyaz and was convened under the leadership of the Faculty Coordinator Dr. Priyam Singh and Mr. Akshat Mehta.
