Event Detailed Description

The Galgotias Incubation Centre for Research Innovation Startup & Entrepreneurs (GICRISE) successfully organized an insightful workshop on Extended Reality (XR), Metaverse Technologies, Hackathon Strategy, and Community Building on April 13, 2026. The session brought together industry experts and aspiring innovators, creating a platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and entrepreneurial mindset building. The workshop aligned strongly with GICRISE’s vision of nurturing future-ready innovators by bridging the gap between emerging technologies and practical application.

The session was led by distinguished speakers, including Chhavi Garg, CEO & Founder in the AR/XR domain and a Global Snapchat Business Partner, and Muskan Kashyap from the Ocean Community. Their combined expertise ensured a comprehensive learning experience, covering both technical and strategic dimensions of innovation.

A major focus of the workshop was on XR and Metaverse technologies. Participants gained clarity that the Metaverse is not a single platform but an ecosystem combining AR, VR, MR, blockchain, and digital assets. Through hands-on exposure to Snapchat’s Lens Studio, attendees explored how AR applications can be built without extensive coding knowledge, making advanced technologies more accessible. The practical session enabled participants to understand tracking mechanisms such as face, plane, and body tracking, reinforcing experiential learning.

In addition to technical insights, the workshop emphasized professional growth and digital visibility. Participants were encouraged to showcase their work on platforms like LinkedIn to build credibility and unlock career opportunities. The guidance on publishing AR lenses with compliance standards further added a real-world dimension to the learning process.

The hackathon strategy session formed a crucial part of the event, equipping participants with a winning approach. The speakers highlighted that success in hackathons is not solely dependent on coding skills but on the balance of idea, execution, and storytelling. Emphasis was placed on building functional prototypes, maintaining team synergy, and delivering impactful presentations. The recommended team structure—comprising a builder, designer, and communicator, provided a practical framework for aspiring participants.

The workshop also showcased the importance of community building through the introduction of the Ocean Community, which offers mentorship, networking, and event collaboration opportunities. An engaging icebreaker activity further demonstrated how creativity and collaboration can drive engagement and learning.

Overall, the GICRISE organized workshop successfully blended technology, strategy, and community engagement, empowering participants to transition from learners to creators while equipping them with practical tools to excel in emerging innovation ecosystems.
