Event Detailed Description:

Galgotias University, through its dynamic innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Galgotias Incubation Centre for Research, Innovation, Startup & Entrepreneurs (GICRISE), successfully organized an impactful session titled “From Campus Innovation to Nation Building: Role of Startups and Young Entrepreneurs in India@2047”. The keynote session was delivered by Ramanan Ramanathan, former Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and Governing Board Member of the India AI Mission, Government of India. The event aimed to inspire students, innovators, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs to contribute actively toward India’s journey of becoming a developed nation by 2047 through innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, startup founders, faculty members, innovators, and university leadership. The event served as a platform for young minds to understand the growing significance of startups and entrepreneurial leadership in nation building. Mr. Ramanathan began his address by appreciating the efforts of Galgotias University in building a vibrant innovation ecosystem and encouraging students to pursue problem-solving approaches through research and entrepreneurship. He highlighted that India possesses one of the world’s largest youth populations, which can become the nation’s biggest strength if channelized in the right direction.

Emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship, he encouraged students to transform themselves from “job seekers” into “job creators.” He explained that startups today are not merely business ventures but powerful instruments for economic growth, employment generation, and social transformation. Referring to the vision of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he inspired students to dream beyond conventional career paths and become contributors to India’s global innovation leadership.

One of the major highlights of the session was the explanation of the “STARTUP” framework, which provided a practical roadmap for building successful enterprises. Mr. Ramanathan elaborated that startups must focus on creating sustainable solutions, integrating modern technologies, maintaining agility, adopting reverse engineering practices, building strong collaborative teams, ensuring uniqueness, and cultivating persistence. He emphasized that resilience and belief in oneself are the most critical qualities of successful entrepreneurs.

The speaker also stressed the importance of grassroots innovation and highlighted how educational institutions and incubation centres can become catalysts for national transformation. He explained that universities have a significant role in converting student ideas and research into scalable innovations capable of addressing local and global challenges. He further encouraged students to develop impactful artificial intelligence and technology-driven solutions rather than merely adapting existing tools. The discussion strongly aligned with the national vision of self-reliant India and innovation-led economic development.

An engaging interactive session followed the keynote address, where students asked questions related to startup challenges, entrepreneurship after graduation, mentorship, and innovation strategies. Mr. Ramanathan advised young founders to focus on market research, proper execution planning, prototype development, and mentorship during the initial stages of startup building. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset even while working in organizations, as innovation and leadership are essential qualities in every profession.

The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by the university leadership, expressing gratitude to Mr. Ramanan Ramanathan for sharing his valuable insights and inspiring the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. The event successfully reinforced the commitment of Galgotias University and GICRISE toward building a world-class startup and innovation ecosystem that empowers students to become changemakers and contributors to the vision of India@2047.
