Galgotias School of Nursing organized a Seminar on world suicide prevention day for 1st and VII semester nursing students on 10th September 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at AI L12, Galgotias University. The session was delivered by Dr. Sidharth Sood, Consultant Psychiatrist and faculty of AIIMS New Delhi, who is also a visiting Psychiatrist at Galgotias University’s Galgotias Centre for Mental Health.
The seminar aimed to provide students with awareness regarding the causes, risk factors, precautions, and prevention of suicide. The session was interactive and focused on bridging theoretical learning with practical application in healthcare settings. It commenced with a brief welcome and introduction of the speaker.
Dr. Sood shared his professional knowledge and clinical experiences and discussed the importance of identifying clinical signs and warning signs at an early stage. The speaker also highlighted research connected with clinical practice in the area of suicide prevention and encouraged students to strengthen their knowledge for timely prevention.
