This program helps to develop the student's ability to express original ideas on film or video and to instill a thorough understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of motion pictures and television. It is a practical and creative production-based course, allowing focus on developing the skills demanded of planning, managing, shooting and editing films of various genres, for different audiences. After passing the Bachelor of Arts course in Film Production and Theatre, students have so many job options in the film industry and its related areas.
XII with minimum 50% marks in aggregate
Engage in professional entrepreneurial activities to work as acknowledged leaders in Film Production.
Work as a creative artist in the theatre/film industry.
Undertake higher education in Film studies and research organization.
Technical know-how: In-depth, hands-on across the key disciplines of filmmaking and theatre: Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, Production (including Production Design) and 1st Assistant Directing.
Writing Script: Practical training for script writing for niche audience across the genre for films and theatre production.
Training: Practicing film & Theatre work with industry experts teaching up-to-date skills using industry standard equipment and software.
Art of Film-making: Developing filmmaking practice while acquiring skills for professional work in the creative industries of film and theatre.
Modern tool usage: Hands – on training over the software and tools used in industry.
Project management and finance: Synthesize knowledge and understanding of the films and communication principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage core art projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
Environment and sustainability: Elaborate the impact of the professional art performer and communication solutions for societal and environmental contexts; demonstrate the creative knowledge for promotion of sustainable development.
Ethics: Integrate ethical principles and commitment to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of the art practice.
Team work: Engage with innovative, ambitious ideas, developing successful films and plays in groups and individually, and gain a practical knowledge of a range of filmmaking and theatrical approaches.
Communication: Communicate effectively on complex social, cultural, political and economic issues with the community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive clear instructions.
Life-long learning: Relate to the need for and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of social, cultural, environmental, economic, and technological changes.
