About the Programme

The B.Sc. (Hons. with Research) Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Physics and Ballistics is a specialized program designed for students interested in the scientific principles behind physical evidence and firearm-related investigations. This program offers a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in forensic physics, ballistics, impact analysis, and crime scene reconstruction.

Students engage in practical learning through advanced laboratories equipped with modern instrumentation for firearms examination, trajectory analysis, tool mark identification, and material characterization. The curriculum encourages scientific inquiry and precision, with a strong research component that allows students to undertake independent projects on real-world forensic challenges.

Graduates of this program are prepared for careers in forensic laboratories, police and defense services, ballistic units, investigative agencies, and private security and consulting firms. The degree also lays a strong foundation for further research and higher studies in applied physics, ballistics, and forensic science.

With increasing reliance on scientific methods in criminal investigations and national security, this specialization provides students with the technical skills, analytical mindset, and research capabilities required to excel in the evolving field of forensic science.
