About the Programme

The M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication is a comprehensive, career-oriented programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the dynamic and ever-evolving media and communication industry.

Under this integrated academic model, students earn a Postgraduate Degree from Galgotias University along with Certification from India Today Media Institute, ensuring a strong blend of academic rigor and industry exposure.

The curriculum is industry-aligned and blends strong theoretical foundations with intensive practical training. Students receive hands-on exposure and mentorship from experienced faculty and industry professionals, majorly associated with the India Today Group, ensuring real-world relevance and professional readiness. 

The curriculum also incorporates Masterclasses, Gurukul Series, Workshops and added disciplines like, Personality Development and Positive Psychology, to expand the world view of the students and focus on their mental wellbeing and grooming.

The Mass Communication programme uniquely offers two mandatory internships as an integral part of the course structure:

Industry Internship: A two-month internship with corporate houses or reputed NGOs, aimed at providing students with meaningful industry or social exposure, as per their aptitude.

Media Internship: A six-month internship with the India Today Group, providing hands-on professional experience in a premier media organisation.

Both internships are mandatory components of the course, adding significant value to students’ academic and professional profiles. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of both internships.
