M.Sc. Forensic Sciences with specialization in Questioned Documents and Fingerprints

Develop a strong theoretical and practical understanding of questioned document examination and fingerprint analysis, including handwriting, signature verification, and latent print identification.

Train students in advanced techniques for detecting document forgeries, alterations, counterfeit currencies, and ink or paper analysis using specialized instruments.

Equip students with skills in fingerprint classification and comparison, including ridge pattern analysis, AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), and chemical development methods.

Promote analytical thinking and research capabilities in areas such as biometric identification, signature dynamics, and emerging trends in document security features.

Prepare students for professional roles in forensic laboratories, law enforcement, banking fraud detection units, and judicial systems, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards in evidence handling.

After Completion of the Course, the students can get an employment in the Government Forensic Science Laboratories either in the State FSLs or in the Central FSLs.

The students would be equipped with the necessary training and knowledge to work in other firms such as Banks, Insurance Agencies, Detective Agencies, Security Agencies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Chemical Industries, Testing Laboratories and Instrumentation Companies.

They can also work as independent Forensic Psychologist Cyber Expert, Questioned Document and Fingerprint Experts and give their valuable opinion to the Court of Law.

They would also become eligible to work in Private Forensic Labs as Crime scene investigators, Questioned Document and Fingerprint examiners and Toxicological, anthropological and Serological analysts.

They would be equipped with thorough knowledge to clear UGC-NET Examination so that they can pursue a successful career as a researcher.

Enhance knowledge, in depth understanding and application of forensic science, policing and criminal investigation by teaching and research.

Students will be able to select, interpret and critically evaluate information from a range of sources that include books, scientific reports, journals, case studies and the internet.

Develop critical and analytical subject specific skills involving the principles, practices and techniques of specific field of forensic science.

They can also analyze the legal, ethical, and constitutional tensions between the interests of society, and the rights of individuals in connection with various criminal procedures and contexts.
