Also, the students can opt for joining law firms, MNCs, insurance companies, banks as forensic consultant. Programme Objectives

Provide in-depth knowledge of forensic toxicology and explosive analysis, focusing on the detection, identification, and interpretation of toxic substances and explosive materials in forensic contexts.

Train students in advanced analytical techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, and spectroscopy for the examination of poisons, drugs, alcohol, and explosive residues.

Develop expertise in medico-legal toxicology, including postmortem toxicology, drug overdose cases, and the forensic implications of chemical and biological agents.

Equip students with skills in explosive material identification, blast scene investigation, and understanding the chemistry and mechanics of various explosive devices.

Prepare graduates for careers in forensic laboratories, law enforcement, customs and excise, anti-terrorism units, and toxicology or explosives research, emphasizing legal and safety protocols.


Programme Outcomes

After Completion of the Course, the students can get an employment in the Government Forensic Science Laboratories either in the State FSLs or in the Central FSLs.

The students would be equipped with the necessary training and knowledge to work in other firms such as Banks, Insurance Agencies, Detective Agencies, Security Agencies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Chemical Industries, Testing Laboratories and Instrumentation Companies.

They can also work as independent Forensic Psychologist Cyber Expert, Questioned Document and Fingerprint Experts and give their valuable opinion to the Court of Law.

They would also become eligible to work in Private Forensic Labs as Crime scene investigators, Questioned Document and Fingerprint examiners and Toxicological, anthropological and Serological analysts.

They would be equipped with thorough knowledge to clear UGC-NET Examination so that they can pursue a successful career as a researcher.
