The students after completion of the program are eligible for working as forensic professional in government and private forensic science laboratories. Also, the students can opt for joining law firms, MNCs, insurance companies, banks as forensic consultant. Programme Objectives

Provide a solid foundation in forensic physics and ballistics, focusing on the scientific principles behind firearms, ammunition, trajectories, and impact analysis.

Train students in the examination and interpretation of ballistic evidence, including firearms identification, bullet comparison, gunshot residues, and tool mark analysis.

Equip students with hands-on experience in using analytical instruments and ballistic software for crime scene reconstruction and shooting incident analysis.

Promote research and critical thinking in specialized areas such as internal, external, and terminal ballistics, and their applications in forensic investigations.

Prepare graduates for careers in forensic science laboratories, law enforcement agencies, defence services, academic institutions, and ballistic research and consultancy.


Programme Outcomes

After Completion of the Course, the students can get an employment in the Government Forensic Science Laboratories either in the State FSLs or in the Central FSLs.

The students would be equipped with the necessary training and knowledge to work in other firms such as Banks, Insurance Agencies, Detective Agencies, Security Agencies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Chemical Industries, Testing Laboratories and Instrumentation Companies.

They can also work as independent Forensic Psychologist Cyber Expert, Questioned Document and Fingerprint Experts and give their valuable opinion to the Court of Law.

They would also become eligible to work in Private Forensic Labs as Crime scene investigators, Questioned Document and Fingerprint examiners and Toxicological, anthropological and Serological analysts.

They would be equipped with thorough knowledge to clear UGC-NET Examination so that they can pursue a successful career as a researcher.
