About the Programme
The M.Tech. in Communication Engineering with a specialization in Satellite Communication is a postgraduate program designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the field of modern communication systems, with a particular emphasis on satellite technologies. This program bridges the gap between theoretical foundations and industry applications, preparing students for a career in one of the most rapidly evolving sectors of engineering.
Satellite communication plays a critical role in global connectivity, broadcasting, navigation, remote sensing, and defence. This specialization equips students to meet the challenges of designing, developing, and maintaining satellite communication systems. The program typically covers the core and elective subjects. Core Subjects are Advanced Digital Communication, Advanced Digital image Processing, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Mobile and Wireless Communication, Advanced Satellite Communication, Digital Communication System Design, Applications of Research Inclined Design Thinking (RIDT).
Students undertake a major project or thesis in their second year, often in collaboration with research institutions or industry. Graduates of this program are well-equipped to work in various roles across industries such as Aerospace and Defence (e.g., ISRO, DRDO), Telecommunication Companies (e.g., BSNL, Airtel, Hughes), Satellite Service Providers, Space Agencies and Research Centres, Broadcasting and Navigation Industries, Academia and Research.
