About the Programme

Political Science as a discipline is one of the most sought out courses in social science in recent times. It lays emphasis on understanding of the concepts, theory and practice of government and politics at local, national and international level. This course aims to provide students with a robust understanding of conceptual foundation of political science as a discipline. The course seeks to revolve around exploring contextual human behavior, philosophies, policy issues, movements leading to the understanding of political phenomena and the political world.

Studying political science helps to develop skills to analyze strategic situation in politics and define new policy discourse for guiding the state and its people. The theoretical aspect of political science lays strong foundation of political concepts like freedom, liberty, equality, justice and as such create political awareness among people and enhance political justice and freedom in democracy.

Eligibility

A Master's degree from a recognized Indian University or any other equivalent degree to the satisfaction of the Academic Council of the University, in the relevant field, with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent.

Note: Candidates who have qualified in UGC NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. Programmes are exempted from Written Examinations. Click Here to know more
