Last Updated in: 2022

Application

This Policy applies to all the students, staff and visitors.

Purpose

The main objective of this policy is to ensure and adopt the best practices and methodologies according to energy efficiency standards.

Policy

Roles and Responsibility: Set up a committee at each school/dept. level to monitor and explore any defects or need of renovations to avoid the requirement of a new class/laboratory/staff cabin/ block.

Energy Audits: University is committed and conducts a regular energy audit to assess current energy usage patterns and identify areas for improvement.

Energy Efficiency Standards: The university adopted the use of high energy efficiency standards based electrical appliances on campus. Implements a range of energy-saving measures, such as: Upgrading lighting systems to LED or other energy-efficient technologies. Installation of occupancy sensors and smart lighting controls. Optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Renewable Energy Sources: University encourages the use of renewable energy sources on campus, such as solar panels or wind turbines, and establishes a plan for increasing their adoption.

Sustainable Building Design: Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient design principles into new construction and renovations. All new building architecture is designed in such a manner that allows natural light to cover all the rooms of the building. The ample natural light therefore avoids the usage of the lights in the corridors and rooms.

Education and Outreach: University promotes energy-saving initiatives through educational campaigns and outreach efforts to raise awareness and foster a culture of sustainability on campus.
