The School of Law, Galgotias University organised an Orientation Session for the Six-Session Certificate Programme on Courtroom & Chamber Practice on 19th September 2026. The programme is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional legal practice by providing students with practical exposure to courtroom and chamber work. The orientation introduced students to the structure, objectives and practical orientation of the certificate programme, covering areas such as case-file note-making, legal research, chamber and law-firm interviews, courtroom etiquette and technology, legal drafting, and practical court procedure. The session aimed to familiarise students with the professional competencies required for effective legal practice and encourage them to approach legal education with greater emphasis on practical application and professional preparedness.
Event Detailed Description
The Orientation Session – Six-Session Certificate Programme on Courtroom & Chamber Practice was organised by the School of Law, Galgotias University, on 19th September 2026. The session provided students with an overview of the objectives, structure and practical orientation of the certificate programme.
The programme has been conceptualised to bridge the gap between classroom-based legal education and professional legal practice. Through a practical and skill-oriented approach, the certificate programme seeks to provide students with first-hand insights into courtroom and chamber practice.
The orientation highlighted the key areas that would be addressed during the six sessions, including case-file note-making and preparation, legal research, professional preparedness, chamber and law-firm interviews, courtroom etiquette, technology in legal practice, legal drafting and practical court procedure.
The session was addressed by Ms. Medha Pushkarna, Practising Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Panel Counsel, Government of India in the Supreme Court. She holds an M.Phil. in Criminology from the University of Cambridge, England, and is the author of the Great Trial Series, a three-book courtroom series.
The programme is limited to 40 seats and is intended for students of the School of Law. The orientation enabled students to understand the practical competencies and professional skills that would be developed through the programme.
