The Galgotias Model United Nations (TGUMUN)
The Galgotias Model United Nations (MUN) is a dynamic educational simulation where students take on the roles of diplomats representing countries, organizations, or political figures in various United Nations committees. Through structured debate, negotiation, and collaboration, participants gain firsthand experience in international diplomacy, policymaking, and global problem-solving. MUN serves as a powerful platform to develop public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, and research skills.
At the heart of every MUN lies the Rules of Procedure, which guide how delegates engage, propose solutions, and build consensus. Each committee focuses on a specific agenda—ranging from pressing international issues like climate change or refugee crises to simulations of historic events or national parliaments. Delegates represent their assigned country’s stance, build alliances through formal and informal discussions, and draft resolutions that reflect diplomatic solutions to global challenges.

INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
"Global perspectives are built by those who embrace challenges, think critically, and lead with confidence."
Amaan Lone, a B.Tech Data Science student from the Class of 2028, represented Galgotias University at the Global Youth Diplomacy Model United Nations (GYDMUN), Malaysia, where he earned the Most Outstanding Delegate Award. Competing with delegates from over 25 nationalities, Amaan demonstrated exceptional diplomacy, communication, and analytical thinking while engaging in discussions on pressing global issues.
Participating in the Global Youth Diplomacy Model United Nations (GYDMUN) in Malaysia was a memorable milestone in my journey as a young diplomat and MUN enthusiast. Representing Galgotias University and India, I had the opportunity to participate in an international conference that brought together young leaders and aspiring diplomats from different countries.
At GYDMUN Malaysia, I represented Malaysia in the UN Women Committee, where the agenda provided an opportunity to engage with complex global issues, understand different perspectives, and advocate for my country’s position through diplomacy and negotiation.
My preparation involved extensive research on Malaysia’s policies, international commitments, and the committee agenda. During the conference, I actively participated in General Speakers’ Lists, moderated and unmoderated caucuses, negotiations, and resolution drafting. I focused on presenting well-researched arguments, engaging constructively with other delegates, building consensus, and ensuring that Malaysia’s position was effectively represented throughout the committee.
Winning Best Delegate at GYDMUN Malaysia was not just an individual achievement—it was a proud moment of representing Galgotias University and India on an international platform. The experience strengthened my confidence as a speaker, negotiator, and young leader while motivating me to continue pursuing opportunities in diplomacy, international relations, and global affairs.
