The Department of Computer Applications and Technology, School of Computer Applications and Technology (SCAT), Galgotias University successfully organized an Expert Talk titled “From Intelligence to Impact: Engineering Sustainable, Human-Centred Futures through Computing, Power, and Communication” on 18th May 2026 at the New Auditorium, C Block.

The session was delivered by Dr. Praveena Rajendra, Director, Impact Lab Clean Technology, Taylor’s University, Malaysia, who shared valuable perspectives on the role of emerging technologies in developing sustainable and human-focused solutions across computing, energy, and communication domains. The expert emphasized the importance of integrating technological advancement with social responsibility and sustainable development goals.

The event was graciously attended by the Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor Sir, whose presence encouraged students and faculty members to actively engage in academic and research-oriented discussions. Deans from various schools of the University also attended and appreciated the initiative for creating interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 200 students along with faculty members from different departments. The interactive session enabled participants to gain exposure to current global trends, research directions, and practical applications, making the event informative, engaging, and academically enriching for all attendees.

Presenter detail: Dr. Praveena Rajendra is a TEDx Speaker, HRDC-accredited trainer, and Director of the Impact Lab Clean Technology at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. With expertise spanning clean technology, sustainability, leadership, and human-centred innovation, she works toward inspiring and empowering individuals and communities through meaningful technological and social impact. Alongside her contributions to engineering and sustainable development, she actively advocates for mental wellness, resilience, and personal growth. Through her talks, training, and mentorship, Dr. Rajendra encourages individuals to embrace positive transformation and pursue purposeful, impactful lives guided by innovation, empathy, and self-development.
