3. Roles and Responsibilities

The Vice-Chancellor will provide overall leadership. The Registrar and designated EDI Committee will coordinate implementation, monitor deadlines and escalate delays. Deans, Heads of Departments and unit heads will deliver actions within their areas and provide evidence. HR will monitor employment-related indicators; Admissions and Academic Affairs will monitor student access and progression; IQAC will support evidence-based review; Facilities and IT will address accessibility; and competent statutory and grievance bodies will handle complaints within their mandates. All members of the University community are expected to act respectfully and comply with the Policy.

4. Monitoring, Reporting and Corrective Action

Responsible units should report progress quarterly, with a formal mid-year review and an annual review by 30 June 2025. Any missed target should be accompanied by a documented explanation and a corrective-action plan identifying the action owner and revised completion date. The annual report should distinguish targets set, actions completed, evidence available, outstanding work and data limitations. Personal information and sensitive complaint details must not be disclosed in public reporting.

5. Data Protection, Fairness and Review

EDI information will be collected only where appropriate, kept confidential and access-controlled, and processed in accordance with applicable law and University requirements. Aggregated or anonymised reporting should be used wherever practicable. Complaints must be handled impartially, sensitively and without retaliation, by the competent mechanism and within applicable legal timelines. The Policy and its targets should be reviewed by the competent University authority before adoption and used to inform the next annual action plan.
