This honorary appointment recognizes his exceptional contributions to the fields of international arbitration, commercial law, and investment treaty arbitration.
Dr. Dautaj is a distinguished legal scholar and practitioner with extensive academic and professional experience. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh and LL.M. degrees in International Commercial Arbitration from Penn State Law and Investment Treaty Arbitration from Uppsala University. His academic journey also includes an LL.B. from University College Cork.
Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Penn State Dickinson Law, Dr. Dautaj has previously held academic positions at prestigious institutions such as Durham Law School, Brunel University London, Uppsala University, and Jindal Global Law School. His expertise spans various legal domains, including contracts, business law, international dispute resolution, and comparative law.
Beyond academia, Dr. Dautaj is a Partner at DER Legal in Stockholm, where he represents clients in high-stakes international arbitration and litigation, including investor-state disputes and commercial conflicts. His arbitration experience includes proceedings under the rules of institutions such as ICSID, ICC, LCIA, PCA, and SCC. He has also contributed significantly to legal scholarship as an editor for prominent journals, including the Indian Review of International Arbitration and the Kluwer Arbitration Blog.
