Day 5: Certificate Course On Interface Between Artificial Intelligence & Ip Law

The 5th day of the Certificate Course on “Interface of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Law”, featured an engaging and insightful lecture by the speaker Dr. Yatin kathuria , Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Noida.
The event began with an engaging introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, followed by a comparative discussion on the differences between traditional AI systems and generative AI models. Participants were then introduced to various generative AI frameworks currently shaping the technological landscape.
A major focus of the session centered on the question of whether AI-generated works should receive protection under Intellectual Property (IP) law. To explore this, relevant case laws were examined, along with the perspectives and policy inclinations of the Indian government regarding AI-generated content. Further, the concept of computer-generated works and their legal standing was discussed in detail.
The discussion then shifted to the growing significance of AI in the legal profession, highlighting how effective prompting can enhance legal research, drafting, and professional efficiency. This was followed by a demonstration of multimodal generative AI capabilities.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights.
