Bridging the Industry Gap: The Amadeus Advanced Certification Program

To further strengthen the technical expertise of its students, the School of Aviation, Logistics and Tourism Management (SALTM) organised an intensive Amadeus Advanced Certification Program in association with Air Grace Academy. This industry-led, skill-based training was delivered in two specialised batches in December 2025 at the state of the art Advanced Computer Lab, ensuring that students across different specialisations received hands-on, practical experience with the world’s leading Global Distribution System (GDS).

The program was structured as follows:

  • Batch 1 (01st – 05th December): Specifically curated for BBA Aviation Management students.
  • Batch 2 (08th – 12th December): Conducted for students of MBA Aviation Management, along with BBA and MBA in Tourism and Travel Management.

Importance and Student Benefits

In the fast-paced world of travel and aviation, proficiency in GDS is a non-negotiable skill. This certification program provided students with:

  • Direct Industry Integration: By learning the Amadeus system, students moved beyond theory to master the actual software used by major airlines and travel agencies globally.
  • Skill-Based Professionalism: The training focused on real-world applications, including complex flight bookings, itinerary management, and fare construction, making students "job-ready" before graduation.
  • Competitive Career Advantage: Possessing an Advanced Amadeus Certification significantly boosts a student's resume, placing them at the top of the list for recruiters in the aviation and tourism sectors.
  • Global Standard Expertise: As a globally recognized credential, this training ensures our graduates can seamlessly transition into professional roles anywhere in the international travel market.

Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

This certification program is a testament to SALTM’s dedication to a sustainable and inclusive future, mapping directly to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative upholds

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): by offering technical and vocational skills that are essential for employment and entrepreneurship.
  • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): by actively promoting and significantly enhancing the employability of our graduates in a high-growth global industry.
  • SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): by training students in the digital infrastructure that powers modern global travel.
  • SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production): by teaching students to optimize travel routes and resources efficiently through GDS, the training supports encouraging more sustainable and well-managed travel practices.
