About the Event: World Optometry Day is celebrated annually on March 23 to acknowledge the significant role of optometrists in eye care and vision health. In line with this, the Department of Optometry at Galgotias University organized a series of activities and events to raise awareness about the profession and its contributions to public health.

Inaugural Ceremony

The event commenced with an inaugural session graced by esteemed guests, SAHS Dean, including our optometry faculty members

Panel Discussions

Panel discussions were conducted on key topics such as:

The Future of Optometry and carrier opportunities

Distinguished speakers from the healthcare and optometry industry shared their expertise, engaging students and faculty in meaningful discussions.

Model exhibition

students displayed innovative models related to optometry, highlighting advancements and concepts in eye care.

Poster Presentation and Quiz Competition

Students showcased their research and creativity through poster presentations on various eye health topics. Additionally, a quiz competition tested their knowledge of optometry, with winners receiving certificates and prizes.

Awareness Walk and Community Outreach

To promote eye health awareness, an awareness walk was organized outside the campus, where participants carried informative banners and interacted with the community. Outreach activities(skit) were also conducted to educate people about preventive eye care measures.
