The School of Agriculture (SOAG), Galgotias University, conducted an insightful workshop on “The Multifaceted Role of Biochar for Sustainable Agriculture & the Environment,” featuring the globally renowned expert Prof. Kadambot Siddique. The workshop successfully brought together students from various agricultural disciplines, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable technologies and their role in modern agriculture.
Prof. Siddique delivered a comprehensive discussion on the significance of biochar as an emerging tool for soil enhancement and climate-resilient farming. He highlighted its potential to improve soil structure, boost nutrient-use efficiency, enhance water retention capacity, and sequester carbon-thereby contributing to soil health as well as environmental sustainability.
The interactive nature of the session enabled students to engage in meaningful conversations on innovative and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
