Workshop and Hands-on Session on Google SketchUp

Event brief description – The objective of this workshop was to provide Diploma Civil Engineering students with practical exposure to Google SketchUp — a powerful 3D modeling tool used in architecture, interior design, and engineering — thereby enhancing their technical skills and employability.

Event Detailed Description-The workshop commenced with a warm welcome and introduction of the distinguished resource persons. Ms. Renu Singh, an expert in interior and architectural design, conducted the first session. She provided a comprehensive overview of Google SketchUp, explaining its interface, basic tools, and its role in professional design workflows. Her extensive experience in interior and architectural projects enriched the session, offering students a real-world perspective on the tool’s application.

The second session was led by Mr. Pankaj Kumar, the CEO of Global Technology, who brought his industrial expertise into the classroom by guiding students through advanced features of SketchUp. Under his mentorship, students engaged in a hands-on activity to create 3D models, learning best practices and techniques that professionals use in the field. Mr. Kumar also discussed the integration of SketchUp with other design and engineering software, emphasizing its significance in enhancing productivity and design accuracy.

Both sessions were highly interactive, with students actively participating, asking questions, and applying their learning in real-time. The involvement of experienced professionals gave the participants valuable insights into industry standards and expectations.
