The Department of Pharmacy (Pharmacology Branch) at Galgotias University organized a webinar on theme “Empowering Women - Understanding and Managing PCOS” on 23th Dec 2024. The event ceremony was opened by welcoming the event expert and participant through master of ceremony i.e., Ms. Neha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, Galgotias University. She also enlightens the participants about the theme, importance and outcomes of the national webinar. Then an informative message address by the Prof (Dr.) S. K. Abdul Rahaman, Event-Convener and Dean, Department of Pharmacy and Dr. Lekha Mam, Event-Convener and Dean, Department of Nursing. Further event proceeds with the welcome address to the event expert by Event organizing secretory Dr. Ritu Rani, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, Galgotias University. Then with huge round of applause the Event expert Dr. Kanika Chandra Mam joined the session. This event brought together experts, scholars, and students from diverse backgrounds to acquire knowledge about the Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). The Participants impacted positively with the session and deeply acquire the thoughtful knowledge about the pathophysiology, symptoms and treatment of the PCOS. At the end of session students were indulged in open ended discussion to clarify their doubts. The students and participants satisfied and enlighten after getting valuable insights relevant to assessing and managing the PCOS symptoms. The webinar on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) was organized to raise awareness, provide evidence-based information, and discuss holistic approaches to managing this common endocrine disorder. PCOS affects approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, leading to challenges such as irregular menstrual cycles, hormonal imbalances, infertility, and metabolic disturbances. The event brought together healthcare professionals, nutritionists, and fitness experts to share their insights and solutions for living with and managing PCOS. The webinar successfully created awareness about PCOS and provided attendees with valuable knowledge and resources. The event highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing PCOS and empowered participants to make informed decisions about their health. The session was ended with the facilitation of the Event expert by Prof (Dr.) S K Abdul Rahaman, Dean, Department of Pharmacy and vote of thanks conveyed by the Dr. NagaRani Kagithala, Department of Pharmacy, Galgotias University. Furthermore as a conclusive remarks the session was closed by the master of ceremony Ms. Neha Sharma (AP), Department of Pharmacy by floating a motivational quote, best wishes and giving a thanks to all the dignitaries, participants and faculty members.
