The Department of Pharmacy at Galgotias University, in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Delhi Branch, organized an insightful guest lecture entitled “Pharmacy Careers in India & Abroad Education” on Sep 14, 2024, at B-209. The session featured two distinguished speakers, Dr. Anand Shedge, Vice President, IPA, Maharashtra State Branch, and Mr. B.E. Khomane, former Assistant Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration Department, Maharashtra, who shared their vast expertise and knowledge on career opportunities within the Pharmacy field both in India and abroad. The event was moderated by Neha Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, who smoothly navigated through the sessions, ensuring a productive interaction between the speakers and the audience. Dr. Anand Shedge provided an in-depth understanding of the scope of pharmacy careers in international markets, focusing on various pathways available for students aspiring to work or study abroad. He emphasized the importance of global certifications and adapting to evolving trends in the pharmaceutical industry. On the other hand, Mr. B.E. Khomane enlightened the audience on career opportunities within Central and State FDA departments, outlining the regulatory roles and the immense growth prospects in government sectors. The event saw active participation from Mr. Kalhan Bazaz, (President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Delhi Branch), Dr. Neeraj Kumar, (Honorary Secretary, IPA-Delhi State Branch, Sr. General Manager, Clinical Operations, Datt Medi-products Pvt Ltd., Delhi) and Dr. Rajesh Aggarwal, (General Manager, R&D Head, Modi-Mundi Pharma)distinguished members of IPA, Delhi Branch. The faculty members, including Dr. Prem Shankar Mishra, Dr. Niranjan Kaushik, Dr. Surendra Jatav, Ms. Deepika Sharma, and Mr. Shreyansh Srivastava from the Department of Pharmacy, were also present, contributing to the lively discussions that followed the presentations. The program concluded with a thoughtful address by Prof. S.K. Abdul Rahaman, Dean of the Medical and Allied Sciences, who offered his insights and appreciation for the speakers and participants.
