Online Guest Lecture on ‘Functional Neurological Disorder-Exploring the Medical mystery

The Department of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences at Galgotias University, successfully organized an insightful online guest lecture on the topic “Functional Neurological Disorder – Exploring the Medical Mystery!” on Saturday, 29th March 2025, at 1:00 PM.

The session was graced by esteemed speaker.

Dr. Isha Tajane (PT), PhD scholar , MPTh Neurosciences and Associate Professor in Kinesiotherapy and Physical Diagnosis at K. J. Somaiya College of Physiotherapy, Mumbai. 

Dr. Tajane shared her profound knowledge and clinical experience, shedding light on the complex mechanisms and presentation of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition often misunderstood and misdiagnosed in clinical settings.

The event was convened by Prof. (Dr.) Shagun Agarwal, Dean of SAHS, and coordinated by Dr. Yamuni Bhandari (PT), Assistant Professor, SAHS. 

The lecture aimed to enhance the understanding of FND among physiotherapy students and faculty, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in diagnosis and rehabilitation.

Participants, including students, faculty members, and professionals from the allied health sciences community, attended the session. The lecture was followed by an engaging Q&A session, where Dr. Tajane addressed several pertinent questions, adding value to the participants' learning experience.
