Mental Wellness App In Association With AIIMS

“Every youth deserves stigma-free mental health support and to never feel alone.”

NEVER Alone: Digital Mental Wellness Support at Galgotias University:

Galgotias University is committed to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of its students by providing dedicated counselling services and accessible mental wellness resources. As part of this commitment, the University has introduced NEVER Alone, a comprehensive digital mental health and holistic wellness initiative developed under the Global Centre for Integrative Health (GCIH), in association with AIIMS, New Delhi.

NEVER Alone has been conceptualised and mentored by Prof. Dr. Nand Kumar, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi, and developed in collaboration with the Mental Health Foundation (India) and the Deepak Chopra Foundation (New York, USA). The initiative brings together clinical expertise and digital innovation to address the evolving mental health needs of young adults.

Through the NEVER Alone app, students can access qualified therapists and psychiatric support, psycho-educational resources, early-intervention tools, and confidential consultations in a secure digital environment. The initiative focuses on prevention, timely support, continuity of care, and reducing the stigma associated with seeking mental health assistance.

The app provides confidential and accessible mental health consultations through the online platform www.neveralone.in and secure WhatsApp integration.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the app on 4 June 2025, the Chancellor of Galgotias University, Mr. Suneel Galgotia, said:

“We are proud to announce our partnership with the esteemed AIIMS in the launch of a pioneering Mental Wellness App. This collaboration brings together the strengths of two institutions committed to excellence, innovation, and the holistic well-being of individuals.”

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, said:

“Mental health is not just a personal issue, it is a collective responsibility. In today’s fast-paced world, where stress, anxiety, and emotional pressures are all too common, we must provide tools that empower students and faculty to take care of their mental and emotional health just as they would their physical health.”

Never Alone Stewardship Programme:

As part of the initiative, faculty members, Ph.D. scholars, and postgraduate students of Galgotias University underwent rigorous training through the Never Alone Stewardship Programme. The programme was conducted with mentorship from the AIIMS team, including Prof. Dr. Nand Kumar, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi, and Dr. Deepika Dahima, Scientist C and Counselling Psychologist, AIIMS.

Dr. Nishat Ahmad, Coordinator, GCIH, delivered key insights on trauma healing, the gut-brain axis, and emotional resilience. The training covered a range of topics, including the biopsychological model, gut-brain axis and mental health, the role of medication, managing stressors, emotional channelisation, self-concept, self-identity, positive self-talk, body image issues, depression, client-centred vocabulary, bipolar disorder, OCD, addiction support, trauma healing, and the relationship between the gut microbiome and mental health.

Upon completion of the programme, the trained students were conferred with badges and designated as Campus Wellness Stewards and Flag Bearers of the programme, enabling them to contribute to a supportive and mental-health-aware campus environment.

Ms. Aradhana Galgotia remarked:

“This app is more than technology which provides enhanced patient care with AI-driven insights it represents accessibility, support, and hope. At Galgotias University, we are dedicated to fostering employee mental health.”

Ongoing Mental Health Support:

The NeverAlone initiative is now being implemented at Galgotias University in collaboration with the GalgotiasCentre for Mental Health, where qualified psychiatrists and mental health professionals provide therapy and counselling sessions. Together, these services provide students with professional, confidential, and accessible support for their mental and emotional well-being.
