MUN Training

A training programme was organized by the School of Liberal Education, Galgotias University, in collaboration with Spectra Genie, an external agency specializing in imparting training for MUN (Model United Nations) to university students. The programme was intended for the first, second and third year students of BA(Hons.) Political Science, English and some students from Economics, Psychology and Sociology at the undergraduate level. The training programme started with Dr. Devika Sharma, Associate Professor, SOLE and Coordinator for MUN, welcoming the esteemed trainers and introducing them to the students. The principal trainer, Ms. Laxmi Hariharan, began by explaining the essence of MUN and what it is about to the students. Thereafter, Mr. Biswajit Sahoo, another faculty member from Spectra Genie took over and explained in-depth about the structure, functions and organs of the UNO, its inception and purposes underlying its creation. Thereafter, he described the concept of MUN to the students. He also kept the students actively engaged and brushed up their knowledge through online quizzes. After that, another faculty from Spectra Genie, took over and explained the nuances involved in planning and hosting an MUN conference. She went on to discuss the various formal procedures involved in an MUN conference. The session ended with an interactive question and answer round to gauge the understanding levels of students.
