Reimagining Notes: Kipp Launches on the App Store from Galgotias University’s iOS Development Center

Kipp – Smart Sticky Notes, Reimagined

Kipp is more than just a note-taking app — it’s a focused, personal creation born out of curiosity, challenge, and the passion to build something that matters. Developed by Shams Tabrej Alam, a B.Tech CSE (2022–2026) student at Galgotias University’s iOS Development Center, Kipp is a reflection of the modern student’s need for clarity, creativity, and control in everyday tasks.

The journey began while preparing for the WWDC 2025 Swift Student Challenge. Though the submission wasn’t selected, the idea behind Kipp stood out: to bring the feel of physical sticky notes into a smart, minimal, and powerful digital experience. Inspired by everyday chaos and the desire to stay organized without overwhelm, Shams took the prototype beyond the challenge and turned it into a fully functional iOS app.

Kipp lets users jot down tasks, capture voice memos, and set smart reminders — all in one clean space. With features like auto-expiring notes, gesture controls, and a sleek dark mode interface, it offers a refreshing way to manage thoughts and responsibilities. Whether you’re a student planning your week, a creator saving ideas, or anyone seeking mental clarity — Kipp is your quiet productivity companion.

What started as a personal learning project is now a live product. With no login requirements and no ads, Kipp focuses entirely on user-centric design and clutter-free productivity.

The project reflects Shams’s transition from a curious coder to a purpose-driven builder. With support from mentors at the iOS Development Center, countless hours of iteration, and a strong belief in simplicity, Kipp was shaped not just to function — but to feel.
