International Women’s Day celebration at Village Kanarsa Kanarsi

School of Agriculture celebrated International Women’s Day at Village Kanarsa Kanarsi. Women of the village actively participated in the event. The students showcased their performances on the theme of the occasion. Dr Nikita from SOL talked about rights of the women, Dr Anju Kapri, Extension Scientist, SOAG discussed about policies for women and self help groups. Dr Vineet Kumar and Dr Kamalkant Yadav, Soil Scientists, SOAG discussed agri entrepreneurship and gave hands on training on vermicompost production. With the growing demand and popularity of organic produce in the market, we are aware that these skills, once mastered, could be an additional source of income for rural women and they actively participated.
The young girls of the village were very enthusiastic and said they were motivated to work for their good and have higher education.
