Day 1: Exploring Cutting-Edge Research
The conference commenced on February 21, 2025, with a grand inaugural function that included a lamp lighting ceremony and addresses by esteemed dignitaries. Notable speakers included Mr. Vivek Sharma, IRS, Managing Director, Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), who served as the Chief Guest and Vice-Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) David Whitford, University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia (present Online).
Alongside him, as the Guest of Honor, were Professor Dr. Subir Kumar Saha, Professor at IIT Delhi and Managing Director of a startup company.
Dr. Shashi Bala Singh, Research Advisor to the Chancellor , Dr. Avadhesh Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor Galgotias University, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, Senior Physiotherapist at AIIMS New Delhi, along with several other eminent experts who participated in the conference and shared their invaluable insights.
Theme of Conference set the stage for discussions on the application of robotics, biomechanics, and footwear design in health and intellectual property rights.
The first keynote sessions featured prominent researchers such as Prof. (Dr.) Subir Kumar Saha from IIT Delhi, who spoke on "Role of Modelling and Simulation in Robotics and Biomechanics." Other speakers included Dr. Rajeev Agarwal from AIIMS Delhi, discussing an innovative Shoe for Parkinson's patients, and Dr. Deepankar Singh from DRDO, who shed light on the processes for creation of intellectual property rights in the field of biomechanics and footwear technology.
The first session of the day concluded with a special session by Dr. Balaji Shivapiragasam from the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia, on the impact of aging and high heels on fall risk and musculoskeletal health.
During the post-Lunch session, the conference witnessed Scientific Presentations from the Participants of Senior Category (PhD Scholars and Faculties) under the thematic sessions of Footwear Biomechanics, Sports and Exercise, Health and Disease prevention.
Day 2: Challenges and Innovations in Footwear Technology
The second day, February 22, 2025, focused on the challenges in AI-driven footwear design and industrial applications. A keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sunil Kumar Hota (DRDO) on shoes for combat operations. Other significant presentations included:
Dr. Madhusudan Pal Scientist G & Director, Centre of Excellence, FDDI Noida on "Challenges in Footwear Design Innovation and Manufacturing".
Dr. Gaurav Jagannath (Medical Advisory Board, Clinical AI Healthcare Technologies) discussed AI applications in digital physiotherapy
Mr. Tushank Jain (Allure Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.) presented a lecture on "Localizing innovations in India’s Footwear Innovation"
A poster presentation session showcased innovative research from young scholars and professionals, followed by a scientific session covering footwear biomechanics, sports science, and disease prevention by the junior category including UG and PG scholars from across the country.
The winners from both Senior and Junior Category of Scientific Presentations were awarded with certificates and memento honoring their efforts in conference.
