Importance and benefits of Community services for students

Industry Expert Talk on “Importance and Benefits of Community Services for Students” was organized in collaboration with the School of Finance on 2nd June 2025.
Objective of the Event:
The objective of the expert talk was to sensitize students about the importance of engaging in community services and to introduce them to various internship opportunities in the social sector that foster holistic development, social responsibility, and real-world exposure.
Key Highlights of the Event:
- The event began with a welcome address by Dr. (Prof.) Anuradha Parasar, Dean, School of Liberal Education, who emphasized the role of socially responsible education in shaping well-rounded professionals.
- Mr. Ankit Tandon, President of TRY NGO, attended the event and appreciated the initiative of the university in promoting community engagement among students.
- Ms. Monika Khanna, Senior Counsellor at TRY NGO, delivered the expert talk. She elaborated on various internship opportunities available through TRY NGO in diverse fields such as:
- Child Welfare
- Women Development
- Old Age Home Services
- Biogas Plant and Dairy Management
She encouraged students to choose an area of service that matches their interests and career goals, highlighting the mutual benefits of experiential learning and community contribution.
- A student from TRY NGO showcased her singing talent, which added a vibrant cultural touch to the event. The performance was well received by the audience.
- In recognition of her talent, a token of appreciation was presented to the young performer, Harshita, by Dr. (Prof.) Anuradha Parasar.
Outcomes of the Event:
- Students gained awareness about multiple avenues for community service and internship programs.
- Encouraged student participation in social initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals).
