School of Finance And Commerce organized a Guest Lecture on Global Career Opportunities in Finance and Accounting for graduating students of BBA(FIA), B.Com,M.Com (1st year) and MBA (Financial Management) on 15th October, 2024. Accounting has different specializations, but many of the career paths are within the financial sector. Financial accounting involves recording, summarizing and reporting business financial transactions of any kind over a period. Event Detailed Description – School of Finance And Commerce organized an insightful session on Global Career Opportunities in Finance and Accounting for graduating students of UG and PG. Mr Rohan Chopra, CPA, CMA, TEDx speaker of the session being an adroit student, he was awarded highly coveted ‘Certificate of Merit’ by C.B.S.E. for achieving the 99th percentile in 12th standard Accountancy. He completed his (B.Com. Hons.) in Accounting and Business at Delhi University, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. Straight out of college he started his career in Auditing with EY. Mr Rohan devoted his time to exploring diverse working milieu, at corporate giants to emerging growth companies in Canada, With a emerging demand of US CMA of knowledge and experience in the field. Mr Rohan started working as visiting faculty for CPA/CMA for 12 major private universities across India. Mr Rohan Chopra credentials include extensive research and practical insights into the intersection of finance and technology.
During the session, Mr Rohan Chopra shared his expertise on career opportunities of accounting and finance abroad. He discussed that currently there is shortage of qualified accountant in Canada and USA, so Indian students have big opportunity to make their career in this area. He built an interactive and progressive method to guide and instruct students keeping in mind the common factors that allow all students of varied backgrounds to be effectively trained in the field of finance and accounting.
Mr Rohan Chopra deep understanding of finance and accounting allowed him to put facts and figures of accounting industry in India as well as of abroad. He explained the how the job market works and how India being a demographic dividend country is a hotspot for outsourcing finance and accounting. He discussed the road map to go abroad, booming career in finance and account by giving knowledge regarding CMA (Certified Management Accountant) Exam. He explained the step by step procedure for pursuing this exam and its completion.
The session proved immensely valuable to BBA(FIA), B.com, M.Com and MBA-FM students, providing them with practical insights and strategic perspectives that are essential for making their career in finance and accounting. Mr Rohan Chopra expertise not only enhanced students' understanding of global career opportunities but also inspired them to explore opportunities and challenges within the industry.
