GUEST LECTURE on Neurocomputation of Brain-Computer interface in Neurorehabilitation and Applications in outer space

Event Date: 19-05-2025

The Department of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences at Galgotias University, successfully organized an insightful online guest lecture on the topic Neurocomputation of Brain-Computer interface in Neurorehabilitation and Applications in outer space on Monday, 19th May 2025, from 10:00am-1:00pm.

The session was graced by esteemed speaker.

Dr. Rishabh Pathak Research Assistant at the School of Computational and Integrative Sciences (SCIS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.

The event was convened by Prof. (Dr.) Shagun Agarwal, Dean of SAHS, and coordinated by Dr. Sumera Khan (PT), Assistant Professor, SAHS.

This lecture is aimed at students and professionals in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and space medicine. It seeks to provide an in-depth understanding of the neurocomputational foundations of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), their therapeutic use in neurorehabilitation for motor and cognitive recovery, and their innovative applications in outer space to support astronaut health, neuroplasticity, and operational efficiency in extreme environments.

The lecture was highly appreciated for its relevance, clarity, and the speaker’s expertise. It contributed significantly to the academic enrichment of attendees by deepening their understanding of cutting-edge neurotechnologies. The session also highlighted the importance of continued medical education in advancing knowledge of complex neurorehabilitative strategies and their innovative applications in rare and extreme environments, such as outer space.
