First aid and CPR training

Event brief description –

A first aid programme was organized by Galgotias school of Nursing collaboration with Medanta the Medicity Gurugram under the guidance of Dr. Lekha Bist (Dean SON) association with Dr. Sudhir kumar (Dean SOE) and Dr. Rajeev Mishra (dean Hospitality & tourism) on 26/10/2024. The aim of the programme was to equipping the lab attendants of School of Engineering and hospitality and School of Tourism with essential life-saving skills. The goal of the training was to ensure participants could respond effectively to emergencies, providing critical assistance until professional help arrives.

The program began at 9 Am with an introductory session by Mr. Himanshu Joshi (Senior Nurse practitioner and Clinical Instructor at Medanta the Medicity). The trainers demonstrated and taught the following key topics:

- CPR Technique: Understanding the proper steps in administering CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.

- Choking Relief: Identifying choking and applying techniques like the Heimlich maneuver.

- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Usage: Introduction to using an AED in cases of cardiac arrest.

The training included a hands-on practice session where participants practiced these skills on mannequins under the supervision of the trainers.

The second session was taken by Mr. Vinod Bhatt and Mrs. Rubi. The following topics are covered under that session:

Event Detailed Description- 

First Aid: Introduction of first aid, first aid management of different types of fractures, and first aid management of burn.

-Techniques of proper Dressing and bandaging

-Wound care.

Participants are actively engaged in practical demonstrations and asked questions, creating an interactive learning environment. 

The organizing team extends gratitude to trainers, sponsoring organizations, college authorities for their support in making this event a success.

Conclusion and Future Recommendations

The goal of the training was to ensure participants could respond effectively to emergencies, providing critical assistance until professional help arrives.
