The Literary Society in association with the Internship & Placement Cell, School of Law, Galgotias University, organized an expert talk titled “Interplay between Law & Literature: UPSC as a Career for Law Students” on 14th June 2025. The distinguished speaker, Dr. Vijender Chauhan, Associate Professor of Hindi at Zakir Hussain College, University of Delhi, addressed the gathering with his deep insights into the relevance of literature in the understanding of law and preparation for civil services.

The session explored the symbiotic relationship between legal reasoning and literary narratives and emphasized how literature aids students in sustaining motivation during UPSC preparation. Dr. Chauhan also shared personal strategies and highlighted how law students, with their analytical and interpretive training, are inherently well-positioned for UPSC.

The talk was followed by an engaging Q&A session, and later, Dr. Chauhan was hosted by Mr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, for a formal lunch discussing institutional innovations. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation from the organizing team.

The Literary Society and the Internship & Placement Cell of the School of Law at Galgotias University collaboratively organized an enriching expert lecture by Dr. Vijender Chauhan on 14th June 2025 at the C Block New Auditorium. Titled “Interplay between Law and Literature; UPSC as a Career for Law Students”, the session attracted a strong student response.

During the talk, Dr. Chauhan discussed how literature shapes legal thinking and empowers aspirants to face the intellectual rigour of the UPSC journey. Referencing literary works by Kafka, Premchand, and Badi Uzma, he illustrated how storytelling equips candidates with patience and resilience. Emphasizing that words transcend time and format, he highlighted literature’s influence on law and society.

The session was introduced by Dr. Priyam Singh, Convenor, Literary Society, and formally welcomed by Dr. Aditya Tomer, Dean, School of Law. Dr. Chauhan emphasized law students’ advantage in UPSC due to their developed interpretative and critical skills. The talk concluded with an interactive Q&A and later a luncheon hosted by Mr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, where discussions on academic-industry-government synergies took place.
