Educational visit I.H.B.A.S Hospital (16-05-2024)

Event brief description An educational visit was organized by Galgotias School of Nursing on 16th May 2024 at Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences a Psychiatric Hospital. Students of 5th Semester went to psychiatric hospital. Two faculties were assigned Ms. Shivani and Mr. Adil Hussain to go to hospital with students. Students went to auditorium and attended a brief session by Dr. Achla Gaikwad (Associate Prof Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences a Psychiatric Hospital) she oriented students about the mission and vision of hospital and how much bedded this hospital is, what therapies are being used for the patients and what is the benefit of educational visit and how patients being taken care of by the healthcare personnel. To differentiate between the care given in a general hospital and in psychiatric hospital. What are the keen responsibilities a psychiatric nurse has to perform. different departments in the hospital. After that students were divided into two groups and went for hospital orientation. They saw different areas such as emergency, OPD, male and female wards, De- Addiction wards, therapies include physiotherapy department with various relaxing and relieving therapies. ICU with fully safe and padded rooms so that person may not harm themselves. child male and female wards, staff was very oriented and kind to the patients ang giving an efficient care to the patients and taught about the recovery process and medications given to the patients and how to handle them and provide them best care. At last, we came back to auditorium and thank hospital staff for providing our students opportunity to observe the psychiatric hospital and its techniques to provide care to a psychiatric patient.
