The Department of Life Science at the School of Biosciences and Technology, Galgotias University, organized the Alumni Meet 2024–2025: Reconnect and Celebrate on 12th April 2025 (online). This event was dedicated to reconnecting and celebrating the achievements of our esteemed alumni. This special gathering aims to bring together former students to rekindle old memories, share success stories, and foster a stronger bond between alumni and the institution. The event features engaging sessions including alumni talks and networking opportunities that showcase the growth and accomplishments of our department. It was also an excellent opportunity for current students to interact with alumni and gain insights into diverse career paths and life beyond university.

We warmly invited Mr. Swetasnhu and Mr. Pratul Gaurav (our alumni) to be a part of this memorable occasion and relived the spirit of their academic journey. We together celebrated the legacy of the Department of Life Science and build a stronger, connected alumni community for the future.

Event Detailed Description

The Department of Life Science, under the School of Biosciences and Technology at Galgotias University, proudly hosted the Alumni Meet 2024–2025 Reconnect and Celebrate (online), creating a heartwarming platform to reconnect with former students and celebrate their achievements. 

The event began with a warm and energetic anchoring session by students Tushita (BSc Zoology Sem-IV) and Aastha Rawat (BSc Biotech Sem-II), who guided the program with grace and enthusiasm. Their vibrant presence set a lively tone for the event, instantly engaging both the alumni and the students.

The Welcome Address was delivered by the respected Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Abhimanyu Kumar Jha, who warmly greeted the alumni and emphasized the importance of staying connected with the alma mater. Prof. Jha highlighted the department's growth over the years and expressed pride in the accomplishments of its alumni, underlining how such interactions inspire current students and strengthen the academic community.

The first alumni session was conducted by Mr. Swetanshu Singh, a B.Sc. Zoology alumnus, who is currently pursuing M.Sc. Zoology at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). His talk focused on career guidance, particularly for undergraduate students aiming to pursue higher education in zoology and related fields. Mr. Swetanshu shared his personal journey, preparation strategies for competitive exams, and insights into life at BHU. His honest and motivating words encouraged many students to think ambitiously about their academic and professional goals.

The second session was led by another proud alumnus, Pratul Gaurav, who is currently pursuing M.Sc. Zoology from Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. Mr. Pratul shared his own academic path, discussed various career avenues available after a degree in life sciences, and offered valuable tips on how to make informed career decisions. He also emphasized the importance of research exposure, internships, and consistent self-improvement.

Both sessions sparked engaging interactions, with current students eagerly asking questions and seeking advice. The presence of alumni pursuing higher education from prestigious institutions created a sense of inspiration and practical direction among the attendees.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, appreciating the alumni for taking time to share their journeys, the Dean and faculty for their constant support, and the organizing students for making the event a success. It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, shared memories, and renewed connections—truly fulfilling the spirit of "Reconnect and Celebrate."

The Alumni Meet 2024–2025 not only bridged the gap between the past and the present but also laid the foundation for a stronger and more engaged alumni network in the years to come.
