About the Programme
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agriculture (Agricultural Engineering) is a cutting-edge research program that blends engineering principles with agricultural sciences to develop innovative solutions for sustainable farming. Spanning 3 to 5 years, this program is designed for candidates with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or related disciplines, requiring a minimum of 55%–60% marks and qualification in ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF, UGC-NET, CSIR
NET, or institutional entrance exams. The admission process includes an entrance test, interview, and research proposal submission, allowing scholars to explore advanced topics such as precision agriculture, farm machinery and automation, soil and water conservation engineering, post-harvest technology, renewable energy in agriculture, and climate-smart farming techniques. Through a combination of theoretical research and hands-on experimentation, this program equips scholars to revolutionize farming practices, improve resource efficiency, and enhance agricultural productivity. Graduates can pursue careers in academia, agricultural research institutions, agribusiness companies, government agencies, and global organizations focused on modernizing agriculture through engineering innovations, automation, and sustainable resource management.
