Prof. (Dr.) Sahadeva Singh

Professor (Agronomy) & Dean

    Dr.Sahadeva Singh holds M.Sc. and Ph.D.(Agronomy) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute(IARI), New Delhi and B.Sc.(Agri. & Animal Husbandry) from C.S.Azad University of Agriculture & Technology-Kanpur(U.P.). Dr. Sahadeva Singh is an expert in the areas of Agronomy, watershed management, plant protection and horticulture. He has served about 33 years in various capacities in Research, Education, Extension, and development fields in ICAR, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Planning Commission and Educational Institutions. Prior to taking up current role, Dr. Singh worked about 5 years as Professor (Agronomy) & Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences, G. D. Goenka University and Director (Academic) at School of Agricultural Sciences, Jaipur National University. He has supervised/guided 8 PG students in Agronomy. He has been involved in conducting M & E and implementation of Government programmes on watershed /water management programmes in various States during 2014-2017.  He has worked as Deputy Commissioner & Head Policy in Planning Commission, Government of India in monitoring and implementation of Inter-ministerial programmes of 5 Central Ministries during 2008-2013. Conducted capacity building programmes/training on watershed management programme in all the states and UTs during 2008-2013.


    Dr.Sahadeva Singh has been involved in formulation, development and implementation of various programmes of UNDP, World Bank including UNDP Project of Strengthening of Quarantine Facilities in India (1995-1999), Integrated Watershed Development Programme (Hills-II) of World Bank Project (1999-2004), Integrated Development of Horticulture in NE States (2004-2008), National Horticulture Mission (2006 to 2008) and Research Project Management on Cropping Systems in ICAR(1989-1995). The total projects formulated/implemented with estimated cost of Rs.12000 crores. He has represented as Member Secretary in National Policy Making Bodies of Ministry of Agriculture and also represented as Director, Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation, Govt. owned companies during 2004 to 2008 and visiting faculty of Haryana Institute of Public Administration from 2006 to 2017.  He has done specialized Management Training Programme in Water Management from Japan under the Fellowship Programme of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He has participated in various international forums and represented the country in SAARC and also participated in various international meetings/seminar/training in China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal etc.
