Eco-Ride Challenge

Galgotias University organized a cycle ride on August 15th this year, with the aim of promoting physical activity and garnering attention from the health sector. The World Health Organization recommends a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week (WHO, 2010), and this event was a step towards achieving that goal. The cycle ride was organized by the student council, with major involvement from the NSS, sports council, NCC, and the mechanical and civil branch. The event was initiated at 1 pm and the cycles used were Evie cycles, ridden by enthusiastic students who volunteered for the event. The journey from Galgotias University to Galgotias College was commendable, despite the distance between the two places. The chief guest inaugurated the event and the VC was also present, displaying great interest and keenness. As the event ended at 3:30 pm, the riders wrapped up everything, having devoted all their energy to this cycle race.
