Galgotias University Hosts 10th Convocation Ceremony; Leaders Stress Resilience, Discipline & Lifelong Learning
Greater Noida News (29 March 2026): Galgotias University marked a significant academic milestone as it successfully conducted its 10th Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of thousands of graduating students. The grand event brought together eminent dignitaries, academic leaders, faculty members, proud parents, and students in a vibrant display of accomplishment and aspiration.
The convocation was presided over by Chancellor Suneel Galgotia, Chief Guest A. S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri awardee and former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation. Other distinguished attendees included Uma Shankar Pandey, noted social activist and Padma Shri recipient; R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited; along with special guests Nagendra Goyal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Vinit Goenka, Secretary of the Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty.
A total of 6,656 students were conferred degrees across various academic streams, highlighting the university’s expansive academic ecosystem. The graduating cohort included 73 doctoral scholars, 3,953 undergraduate students, 2,250 postgraduate students, 199 diploma recipients, and 181 students from integrated programmes. The convocation marked a defining moment in their academic journey as they prepared to step into professional and research domains.
Delivering the convocation address, Chief Guest A. S. Kiran Kumar underscored the importance of continuous learning in an era driven by rapid technological transformation. He emphasised that while formal education may conclude, the pursuit of knowledge must continue throughout life. Highlighting the fast-paced evolution of technology, he encouraged students to remain adaptable, inquisitive, and future-ready. He also raised concerns about the increasing dependence on smartphones, cautioning that technology is influencing human behaviour, and advised students to exercise awareness and self-control in their digital engagement.
In his address, the Chancellor reflected on the institution’s journey towards academic excellence and global recognition. He congratulated the graduating students and emphasised the role of challenges in shaping resilience and character. Drawing a powerful analogy, he compared individuals to strong trees that endure storms and emerge stronger, urging students to stay steadfast during adversity. He reiterated that perseverance and struggle are integral to success and encouraged graduates to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
G. Agarwal highlighted the significance of discipline in achieving long-term success. He stressed that consistent effort, structured thinking, and self-regulation are essential qualities for both personal and professional growth.
Sharing his insights, Uma Shankar Pandey delivered a compelling message on water conservation. He pointed out the irony of modern society, where awareness about saving water remains limited, while a vast commercial market thrives on selling it. He called upon the younger generation to adopt responsible practices and contribute towards sustainable resource management.
The university VC also presented annual report which showcased its strong placement performance for the current academic year. With participation from a large number of recruiters across emerging sectors, students secured opportunities in leading organisations such as Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, EY, and Capgemini. Overall, more than 1,200 organisations were part of the university’s recruitment network, reflecting its strong industry linkage.
Reaffirming its commitment to excellence, Galgotias University emphasised its focus on innovation, research, and holistic student development. The institution assured graduating students that they would continue to remain an integral part of its global alumni network.
While talking to TEN NEWS CEO Galgotias University stated that the University has emerged as one of India’s leading higher education institutions, gaining recognition in global rankings such as the QS World University Rankings 2026 and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. The university is placed in the 1201–1400 global band in QS Rankings 2026, while also securing a position among the top private and overall universities in India. It has been awarded NAAC A+ accreditation in its first cycle within just 14 years of establishment. He also added that in the Times Higher Education Rankings 2025, the university is ranked among the top Indian institutions and placed in the 1001–1200 global band, underscoring its growing international stature and commitment to quality education and research.
