The Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Galgotias University, organized a seminar titled “Career GPS: Find Your Direction” on 13th January 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Room C-515.

The seminar hosted Ms. Sweta Sahu, Centre Director, T.I.M.E. Greater Noida, as the expert speaker, who guided 60 students and 4 faculty members on higher education pathways (CAT, GATE, GRE, GMAT) and competitive public sector avenues (UPSC, SSC, Banking, Defence).

The program directly supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by enhancing career literacy, skill orientation, and professional readiness among engineering graduates.

Event Detailed Description

A seminar on “Career GPS: Find Your Direction” was successfully conducted for B. Tech. students with the objective of creating awareness about higher education opportunities, government job avenues.

The session commenced at 11:30 AM in C-515, where the resource person, Ms. Sweta Sahu, Centre Director, T.I.M.E. Greater Noida was formally welcomed by the Head of the Department, DEECE. Following the welcome address, the seminar began with active participation from students. During the seminar, the resource person provided valuable insights into emerging career options after B.Tech, focusing on both higher studies and government sector opportunities. She elaborated on competitive examinations such as CAT/MBA, GATE, GRE, and GMAT for students aspiring to pursue postgraduate education in India and abroad. In addition, she discussed various government job opportunities, including UPSC, SSC, Banking, and Defence services, highlighting their scope, eligibility criteria, and long-term career prospects.

The seminar concluded with a concluding address and vote of thanks by Dr. Meenakshi Awasthi, HoD who appreciated the speaker for her insightful session and encouraged students to actively apply the strategies discussed. The event ended on a positive note, leaving students better informed, motivated, and confident about planning their future career paths.
