Advocate Aradhana Galgotia, Director Operations, Galgotias University, opened the session by emphasizing the pivotal role of moot courts in developing advocacy skills among students. She noted how the presence of such esteemed members of the judiciary would further inspire students to excel in their legal careers.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice J.R. Midha, Former Judge, Delhi High Court, shared personal anecdotes from his career, illustrating his enduring passion for academics alongside practice. He highlighted how today's law students are privileged to have platforms like moot courts, mediation, and negotiation competitions to enhance their skills — opportunities that were rare during his student days.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice Shubhash Vidyarthi, Judge, Allahabad High Court, connected with the students by recalling his experience as a participant in the first national moot court competition from Lucknow University. He encouraged those who did not win, emphasizing that the true value lies in participation, learning, and personal growth, rather than solely in securing a trophy.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge, Supreme Court of India, delivered a comprehensive and inspiring address, guiding students on navigating their academic and professional journeys. He stressed the importance of excelling in moot courts, mediation, and negotiation competitions to build critical legal skills. Justice Bindal also touched upon emerging challenges in the legal field, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on the practice of law, evolving methods in tackling banking frauds, and the pressing issue of pendency of cases. He explained progressive initiatives by the judiciary, including the adoption of neutral citation methods and the National Judicial Data Grid, aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency. He urged students to remain aware of such developments and actively contribute to the evolution of the legal system.
