Biomedical Sciences is the branch of the science that deals with the study of biological sciences and medical sciences. The B.Sc. (Hons. with Research) Biomedical Science is an interdisciplinary program, concerns with the topics to understand the biological principles that govern the functioning of the human body to discover the mechanism of any disease and to find new and distinct ways to cure a disease by developing advanced diagnostic tools or new therapeutic strategies. This 4 years undergraduate programme is suitable for those students who are interested in Biomedical Sciences and have a scientific bent of mind along with interest in experiments. This course is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the scientific basis of human health and disease, covering basic aspects of cell and molecular biology, anatomy, physiology etc. This 4 years graduation program specially inculcates research abilities in students to pursue their career in research and allied areas.
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Critical thinking and analytical reasoning: Acquire ability of critical thinking and logical reasoning and capability of recognizing and distinguishing the various aspects of real life problems.
Conduct investigations of complex research problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern science and research tools including prediction and modelling to complex scientific activities with an understanding of the limitations.
Communication: Communicate effectively on scientific activities with the community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional scientific solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the scientific practice.
Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
The graduated young minds will be ignited to understand the world of biomedical science concepts through application based learning.
The graduates will be emphasized on applied aspects of advance biomedical techniques by hands-on training and to inculcate ethics and professional attitude.
The graduates of biomedical science will be trained for self-directed learning, recognizing, continuing educational needs in occupying positions in research, industries and related organization.
Disciplinary Knowledge and Problem Analysing: The graduated young minds will be ignited to understand the biomedical science concepts through application-based learning and to apply the knowledge in analyzing the problems related to various fields of medical sciences for their solutions and enhances overall development and also equip with advanced biological techniques by hands-on training and to inculcate ethics and professional attitude with problem solving skills.
Formulation and Design: The graduates will be trained to handle the advanced techniques of biomedical sciences to formulate the solutions of variety of problems related to the real life and will be trained for self-directed learning, recognizing and continuing educational needs in occupying positions in research, industries and related organizations.
